Alphabet (GOOG) Earnings October 28, 2026: Estimates, AI Spending and Peer Results
Alphabet reports Q3 results on October 28. Review dated estimates, Search and Cloud drivers, AI investment, previous earnings reactions and recent IBM and Meta results.

1) When is Alphabet reporting Q3 earnings?
Alphabet’s October 6 issuer announcement schedules the Q3 2026 earnings conference call for October 28 at 4:30 PM Eastern, with the release available before the call. GOOG and GOOGL represent different common share classes in the same issuer; this report uses GOOG prices.
2) What are the dated earnings expectations?
The saved earnings-calendar feed updated October 22, 2026 at 12:35 PM Eastern lists EPS of $3.03 and revenue of $127.9199 billion. These are vendor estimates rather than company guidance. Its EPS accounting definition is not supplied, so this preview does not treat the figure as comparable with investment-influenced GAAP EPS without reconciliation.
3) How should investors read the previous results?
The Q2 filing reports $119.796 billion of revenue and $9.11 GAAP diluted EPS. Other income included a $98.0 billion net gain, chiefly unrealized equity gains. The third graphic therefore shows verified revenue surprises while marking the company EPS surprise as unverified, rather than presenting an unreconciled earnings beat.
4) Guidance and the market can tell different stories
The July conference remarks raised 2026 capital expenditure guidance to $195–205 billion. The price comparison uses the regular close on the release date through the next trading close; it is an observed window, not proof that a single earnings item caused the move. The charts use the completed October 22 session.
5) How the business makes money
Alphabet earns revenue through advertising on Search, YouTube and partner properties, cloud infrastructure and enterprise services, subscriptions, app distribution and devices. Its scale and mix make both advertiser demand and enterprise compute spending relevant, while investments outside Google have different economics.
6) What to watch
Research priorities are whether AI increases monetizable Search activity, whether Cloud demand converts to profitable revenue, and what management says about capital intensity. Server purchases, depreciation and outside capacity costs can affect margins and cash generation before the related revenue arrives.
7) Recently reported peers
IBM’s October 21 release and Meta’s October 21 release offer different lenses on enterprise technology and advertising. Their revenue surprises, guidance and timestamped after-hours reactions are shown separately. Meta reported $3.83 GAAP EPS and $7.40 excluding a legal charge; its unreconciled EPS surprise is deliberately not asserted. Neither peer establishes Alphabet’s forthcoming outcome.
8) Risks into the report
Risks include slower advertiser spending, competition in AI-assisted discovery, regulatory remedies, infrastructure costs and execution of capacity expansion. Equity-investment gains can move GAAP EPS independently of operating progress; vendor consensus must be compared on a matching basis.
