1) AI growth leads the morning
Celestica rose 16.70% after its October 26 earnings release. The maker of data-center equipment reported third-quarter adjusted EPS, or profit per share, of $3.30 and revenue of $5.83 billion. It forecast $40 billion of revenue for 2027, compared with its $21 billion outlook for 2026. The opportunity comes with funding demands. Celestica lowered its 2026 free cash flow forecast to $460 million from $600 million, mainly to support working capital for growth. Its 2027 capital spending forecast is $1.5 billion–$2 billion. Investors should watch how quickly customer demand turns into cash.
2) Travel results show demand and cost tradeoffs
Royal Caribbean rose 4.42% following its October 27 third-quarter release. Revenue reached $5.6 billion and adjusted EPS was $6.57. Strong last-minute bookings and costs shifting into the fourth quarter helped results exceed company guidance. Full-year adjusted EPS is now forecast at $17.85–$17.95; higher fuel costs remain a risk. Hilton fell 4.23% despite third-quarter adjusted EPS rising to $2.45 from $2.11 a year earlier. Its October 27 release projected fourth-quarter revenue per available room growth of 3%–3.5%, compared with 5.8% growth in the third quarter. That measure combines hotel pricing and occupancy. Hilton also cited lower expectations for its Middle East business and timeshare license fees in its full-year outlook.
3) Xylem lowers its profit outlook
Xylem fell 5.67% before open. Its October 27 third-quarter release reported revenue of about $2.2 billion, down 3%, with project timing and more cautious customer spending weighing on sales. It cut its full-year adjusted EPS range to $5.40–$5.45 from $5.55–$5.70. Xylem also announced plans to sell Applied Water International and Specialty Flow Control and reorganize into three segments in 2027. These are planned changes. The investor question is whether a more focused portfolio and cost savings can offset softer sales.

5) The next decisions that matter
The Federal Reserve meeting concludes on October 28, 2026. Its rate decision can change borrowing costs and the value investors place on future profits. On October 29, the scheduled personal income and spending report includes the PCE price index, an inflation measure watched by the Fed. For companies reporting this week, focus on changes to sales, margins and cash flow forecasts. Strong profit growth can still come with higher funding needs or a slower outlook. Premarket prices can change quickly as earnings calls add detail.
