About this lesson

Original lesson notes from the instructor’s YouTube description.

The real risk in trading hits when you’re most confident - smiling, laughing, winning and relaxed. And then reality snaps back... Understanding Allocation Risk in Trading & Investing Allocation risk is one of the most overlooked dangers in trading. Even a great idea can lead to big losses if you size it wrong. Here’s what you need to know: 📉 Never allocate more than 1% of your portfolio to a non–S&P 500 stock, unless you’re highly experienced. 📊 For S&P 500 stocks, avoid allocating more than 10% or 3x the index weight — whichever is lower. ⚠️ Options are high risk — keep exposure under 1% per position, especially if you’re new. For your first year of trading or investing, these limits help protect you from emotional decisions and large drawdowns. As you gain experience and confidence, you can adjust based on your strategy and risk tolerance. 🟢 In the app, every signal includes a recommended allocation, so you know exactly how much to invest per trade — helping you grow smarter, not just faster.
